Depending on their thermal class (according to the EN 54-5 standard), thermal detectors can react to a certain constant temperature threshold (suffix S) or to a sudden increase in ambient temperature (suffix R). The type of detector is selected based on the operating temperature of the environment.

The body of ZI-H 715 Zitex thermal detectors is made using heat-resistant ABS plastic. Other features related to the materials of this detector include the provision of sufficient space behind the detector for the entry of zone and remote indicator wires, as well as the use of double elevator terminals and chrome plating of all metal parts to protect against corrosion. Two LEDs show detector performance continuously (flashing green: normal/solid red: alarm). The detector circuit is protected against reverse polarity.

The circuit used in the detector is of double-layer metallized fiberglass and the electronic components are assembled on the circuit using SMT technology. The hardware and software technology to eliminate noise and false alarms (F.A.P) makes the detector safe against electromagnetic noise and false alarms. It is possible to connect the detector to the remote, and both thermal class suffixes (S and R) are included in the products.
